“Aceldama” for solo flute and string orchestra by Mary Ann Joyce-Walter
PROGRAM NOTE
ACELDAMA, or, “Field of Blood” in Aramaic, is a metaphor and a meditation for so many fields of blood in today’s world. The strings represent the place, the field of blood; the flute is the lone human being wandering and crying in the unimaginable chaos.
Audio available on CD: Cantata for the Children of Terezin
