Blues for Paul by Julie Mandel

As for notes about the work: It was commissioned by Paul Taub, a wonderful Seattle flutist. One of the first performances of the work was in NY when it was played by Paul on flute and Blanche Abram on piano at a concert given by the American Chamber Ensemble at Hofstra University. I’ve tried to make this work “jazz-like” as I’ve always felt the flute was generally not as appreciated as it should be in its ability to play jazz.

The work is published by my own publishing company Joopie Music and, should anyone like to purchase a copy, it can be ordered by emailing me directly at juliemandel@nyc.rr.com
