PROGRAM NOTE
This work conjures up the mysterious world of Minnesota’s ice fisherman where birds call out to each other across the silent frozen lakes. It is said that in the winter, the veil between the world of the living and the spirit world is at its thinnest. In the first movement ghosts gradually gather, then, explode in the second movement into a wild dance.
